Christmas at GBM

~ Iris Jenkins, Co-Chair, Direct Services Workgroup

Volunteering at GBM is a gift that can change many lives, including your own.  This is especially true during Christmas time.

At this time of year, the GIVING Season, your gift of time collecting money, food, toys and clothing is especially needed.  GBM’s efforts to serve 200 families with food and a turkey, clothing and toys could not happen without volunteers, individuals and groups.

What is the definition of a group of Volunteers?

1. A group who voluntarily offers themselves for a service or undertaking.

2. A group who performs a service willingly and without pay.

Willingness is the key.

And during this Christmas season, we need many willing volunteers and groups of all ages to share their special gift of time with us at GBM.  There’s something about Christmas that encourages people to spread a little cheer and focus on giving.

Some in our society believe acceptable gifts must come wrapped in beautiful gift paper with bows and ribbons.  But GBM believes making it possible for disadvantaged parents to provide a decent Christmas for their children is the more acceptable gift.  Volunteering and volunteers make this happen.

Give us a call at 326-6821, if you or your group is willing to help with gifts of time, food, toys, clothing and money.
