Position Summary

GBM is seeking a candidate who is organized and passionate about operating our food, clothing, and holiday gift distribution programs. As the Emergency Services Operations Coordinator, you will ensure that our emergency services programs are well-funded and run efficiently and effectively. After we train you on our policies and procedures, there will be opportunities for you to creatively adjust operations to center dignity, equity, and justice. In the process of providing services, the ideal candidate will identify opportunities for growing our programs and improving our systems.


  • Manage food and clothing distribution programs, working in partnership with staff and volunteers to buy food, pick up donations, and organize storage
  • Monitor quality of food, clothing, and other resources and client satisfaction
  • Manage annual holiday gift program, including organizing volunteers & donations and planning distribution
  • Ensure that restrictions from funders and the Community Food Bank are followed when allocating resources
  • Improve and implement process for recording donations and documenting clients/families receiving food and other services
  • Respond to client inquiries about services and community resource referrals
  • Manage & train volunteers and board members who play a critical supporting role in the provision of emergency services
  • Build relationships with faith and community organizations to ensure sustainable funding and recruit volunteers
  • Work in collaboration with other staff to call attention to resource needs & opportunities
  • Schedule donation pickups and food purchases and drive van for pickups

Experience & Qualifications

  • Have an initial understanding of social justice issues affecting marginalized and/or minority communities
  • Ability to work with diverse faith institutions and ethnic communities in fundraising and capacity building
  • Strong and effective organization skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
  • Discipline and ability to stay on task
  • Collaborative & patient mindset with ability to work well on a team and with volunteers
  • Desire to learn and openness to challenge yourself and others
  • Experience with operations or logistics management
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and comfortable learning new database systems and software
  • Access to reliable transportation to the office
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 lbs
  • Current, valid driver’s license and good driving record

The starting salary range is $37,000 – 40,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include full medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with partial match, paid holidays, sick time, professional development and more.
