We Did It!

GBM’s friends and supporters truly amaze me.  We had an ambitious goal – raise $100,000 in 5 days!  The theme of this year’s campaign was “The Gift of Hope.”  The wonderful thing about hope is that it’s a gift we carry in our hearts and souls, and it’s also a gift we give to others.  Because of your gift, we are able to share hope with others in the community.

Take for example today…a mother came to our office needing food for her family’s Thanksgiving meal.  She missed our food distribution on Friday.  She was hoping we had something left that we could share with her.  What she didn’t know was that one of our staffers was working late on Friday when a donor stopped by to drop off a turkey for our pantry. That mother left our office this morning with that turkey and other groceries from our pantry.  That’s the gift of hope you enable us share with others.

271 of you contributed to our fundraising campaign!

Thank you for believing in us.  Thank you for supporting our work of serving those most vulnerable and marginalized.  Thank you for working with us as we pursue justice for all. And thank you for giving the gift of hope to so many!

You did it!  And as our beloved Ms. Sarah used to say, “GBM belongs to you!”

In faith and gratitude,

Rev. Carolyn Foster
